Dear Colleagues,

Greetings from us, the editorial board members. As mentioned earlier, starting from the last issue, APIK Journal of Internal Medicine is being printed by Wolters-Kluwer-Medknow. You might have appreciated the difference. Even our earlier issues were good in many respects, but now, the issue looks international. We had a good number of problems during the transition, but everything is settling down. We are receiving a good number of articles and would like to invite you all to contribute not only original articles (OAs), but also review articles, case reports, your viewpoint, pictorial continuing medical education, and of course to radiological, electrocardiogram (ECG), echocardiogram, and computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging diagnosis. Once you understand how to upload your article, it will be easy.

What we have observed in these 6 months is that majority of the authors do not read the instructions to the authors properly. The instructions to authors tell you everything about the article submission including copyright submission, conflict of interest declaration, the way to write the references, the word limit for the article, abstract, the number of tables allowed, the way the pictures have to be sent, and what should be in the first page file and article file. Still, we receive articles in a haphazard manner, and lot of time is taken to see that the article is in proper order before it is sent for review. We would be glad if all the contributors go through the instructions to authors diligently before uploading their article. We had instances of plagiarism which is a serious offense. Hence, please ensure that your article undergoes plagiarism check before you upload. Every article accepted for publication should mandatorily undergo plagiary check before its publication.

Coming to the present issue, we have three OAs in the place of one. There is an OA on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in women, one OA on concurrent infections along with dengue, and one OA on serum choline esterase in organophosphate poisoning (OPP). The guest editorial gives you a bird's eye view of the present status of OPP. There is a review article on biologicals in rheumatoid arthritis and drug information on recent drugs for migraine in the drug corner section. We hope all these articles will be of immense value to all of you. There are four interesting case reports, and we feel that these will be more useful to the practicing consultants compared to OAs. Regular sections on ECG diagnosis, radiological diagnosis, and scientist's review are there in this issue also. In the letter to the editor section, eradicating measles is dwelt upon, which you should find interesting. Do send us good articles and make the journal to grow faster and achieve its goal.

Happy reading.
