My Dear Colleagues,

At the outset, the Editorial Board wishes a very happy, healthy, and prosperous new year 2020 to all the members of the API. We are happy to say that we are getting articles from outside the state and the journal is slowly getting international as we are getting articles from abroad also. This indeed is extremely good progress in the 6 months of the publication going international.

Our contributors are again requested to go through the instructions to the authors very carefully as every journal has its own way of having the articles. A lot of time is spent by the members of the editorial board in doing an editorial review, which includes observing whether the article has followed all the instructions properly or not. Once it is not done, the article has to be sent back to the authors for corrections and further processing gets delayed. My request to all the external reviewers is to remind them regarding the time constraint as many reviewers do not send their opinion in time at all, thereby delaying the decision on the article still further. The authors, once they receive the observations, have to answer within the time frame given so that it becomes easier for us to take the decision on the article faster. There has been further delay once the article is accepted and the author proofs are sent to the authors for corrections, as the authors do not reply in time. All these factors are contributing for the delay in releasing the journal in time. Perhaps, all these would come down once the authors, reviewers get adjusted to the system, at least we hope so.

This issue has all the interesting ingredients for all of you to relish. Whether waist circumference (WC) could be a sensitive indicator of abdominal adiposity is discussed in the original article published in this issue. The guest editorial discusses the pros and cons of it. In our study done, a few years earlier on this subject, we had shown that WC has its limitations as both subcutaneous and visceral fat was measured and we had used ultrasound to correlate. There is another article on atazanavir-induced hyperbilirubinemia in HIV patients. There are four interesting case reports. The review article in the present issue discusses the importance of rickettsial infections, which have been emerging in the differential diagnosis of febrile infections very often. There are four good case reports. The routine titles of electrocardiogram and radiological diagnosis are there to puzzle you. There have been a good number of letters to the editor and a few of them have been published.

The first information brochure of KAPICON 2020 at Manipal appears in this issue. Members can use it to register for the conference. Please do send your original papers, review articles, case reports, and your views to the journal. Have a happy reading.
