The short article titled “Patient Based Factors Influencing Drug Compliance in a Tertiary Care Hospital in Mysore..A pilot study” published in Journal of Internal Medicine, Research, Reviews, Reports (now APIK Journal of Internal Medicine), on pages 17-21, Issue 4, Volume 5, 2017,[1] is being retracted because it is a duplicate publication of an article titled “Patient based factors influencing drug compliance among hypertensive patients in a tertiary care hospital in Mysore” published in International Journal of Research in Medical Sciences, on pages 1435-1438, Volume 3, Issue 6, 2015.[2] It was brought to the attention of the journal's editorial board, by one of the authors, that the publication in Journal of Internal Medicine, Research, Reviews, Reports in 2017, was done without his/her knowledge as well as consent. Thus, the author as well as the journal's editorial office decided to retract the article.

Plagiarism, fabrication, unethical or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of APIK Journal of Internal Medicine, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work.

This article has been retracted on request of the Authors and Editor-in-Chief of the journal.
